Hey everyone!
If you are looking for a ton of ideas to send to your list in January, we have a bunch!
I have a Podcast and a blog post from January of last year titled “What to say to your email list in January,” so take a look at both of those!
But today, I am sharing an updated list for this year.
Without further ado, here are four emails you can send to your list in January 2025!
Email 1: The Changes I’m Making in 2025
The changes or the shifts I’m making in 2025 to [blank]. That blank gets filled in with a goal that you have or that your clients also might have. This can be a business or personal goal.
For example:
- The changes I’m making in 2025 to go social media optional
- The changes I’m making in 2025 to lose weight in my 40s
- The changes I’m making in 2025 to make launching less complicated
So, any changes that you are making to your business this year going forward or to your life that your clients, your readers, or your email subscribers might also want to make—that is the prompt for this email.
It WORKS.
Why does it work?
Anytime you can send an email that shares how you are doing what you help your clients achieve, it’s a win, right? Emails like this build connection because your readers get to know you, and they kind of see how you are walking the walk, so to speak. It also shares your unique process and insight. Instead of saying, “This is how you should do something to achieve a goal,” you’re coming at it from a gentler, more human approach of, “Hey, I’m making these changes in my own life to reach a goal. Here’s what I’m doing.” People can learn by what you’re doing.
The call to action in the email: I would always make it to invite your readers to take a look—whatever the next step is that you have coming up. That could be to work with you, to attend a free training, or to download a masterclass that you’ve already recorded.
Email 2: My Thoughts on [Trend]
My thoughts on the [blank] trend. That blank in there is something that is relevant to your audience, for your industry.
For example:
- My thoughts on the word-of-the-year trend
- My thoughts on the high-protein diet trend
- My thoughts on the social media optional trend
Why this WORKS:
Have you ever read someone’s content, like something they shared on Instagram, and thought, “Oh my gosh, I’ve been thinking that forever. Someone finally said it. I totally agree. That’s exactly how I feel.” That’s the feeling you’re creating. You’re creating content that speaks to people who resonate with you.
The call to action in this email: Invite your readers to reply to your email and start a conversation. At the end, you could say something like, “What are your thoughts on [trend]? Reply and let me know—I’d love to keep this conversation going.” This is how you can get to know the people on your email list a little better, and it opens the door for engagement and connection.
Email 3: Three Mistakes [Audience] Makes with [Problem]
Three mistakes that [your ideal client] makes with [problem]. The goal with this email is to share three mistakes that your ideal client is making to achieve a result and what they can do instead.
For example:
- Skipping breakfast: Why this is a mistake and what to do instead
- Eating less than 1,700 calories per day: Why this isn’t working and what to do differently
This is not pain point marketing that says you’re doing this wrong and you’re messing up over here and don’t you want to work with me to fix it? No. Instead, we’re going to share, “Hey, here are some things that you might be doing with good intention because you’re trying to get somewhere, but actually if you do this other thing, you’re going to get there a lot faster, easier, etc.”
Why it WORKS:
This email provides the solutions to what they can do instead of just calling out the mistakes. When the mistakes that you call out are really short but specific, people are most likely going to pay attention when you also provide a solution to that mistake.
The call to action: If you love tips like these, invite readers to take the next step, whether that’s joining a masterclass, booking a free call, or exploring a low-ticket offer.
Email 4: A New Approach to [Specialty]
A new approach to [blank]. That blank is what you do.
For example:
- A new approach to email marketing
- A new approach to manifesting your dream life
Why this WORKS:
We’re always looking for new and better ways to do things. Your new approach or telling them there’s a better approach might honestly be just what they need. It might be something they haven’t tried yet!
The call to action: Ask readers if they’re curious to know more. For example, “Reply to this email with [word], and I’ll send you details on my free masterclass or details on my new offer that helps you achieve XYZ.”
That’s all FOUR emails you can send to your email list in January 2025!
