We became parents at 23.
I saved and saved and *saved* my PTO throughout my first pregnancy.
I filled out all the paperwork for unpaid extra time off.
I was so excited to have 12 weeks of maternity leave when my daughter was born.
But when I had to go back to work & take her to daycare, I just couldn’t.
Aaron said, “We’ll figure this out.”
We sold our house and moved back to our hometown. This was not the plan. But it’s how we could afford for me to stay home with our daughter.
We had two more daughters.
Three of them in less than four years.
I still can’t believe we did that.
I stayed home with my girls, and –
opened a small daycare.
sold doterra oils.
tried making jewelry <- it wasn’t great.
homeschooled for seven years.
wrote magazine articles.
became the managing editor of a magazine.
In 2018, I landed my first copywriting client for $400/month.
Since then …
I’ve grown a copywriting business beyond anything that I ever thought possible for me, and I feel like I’m just getting started.
More than that.
I get to be here for my girls.
I’m here so much … they probably wish I’d leave sometimes.
😂
I never miss a sick day, an activity, a summer, or a holiday. I drop them off and pick them up from everywhere.
This is a small thing.
It’s also everything.
My daughters are going on 11, 13, and 15.
I don’t share about them as much on social media to protect their privacy.
But everything my husband and I do is about spending as much time with them as possible.
Since the days of being clueless, 23-year-old parents of a newborn, we’ve run every decision through this filter:
“Will doing this give us more time with the girls?
“How can we bring the girls along with us when we do this thing?”
When stuff gets hard in your business, remember that you made yourself a job out of thin air that allows you to focus on what matters to you most.
This is seriously a miracle.
Whether you hit an income goal or not.
Whether it takes you 5 days or 50 years to get where you want to be.
It’s still a miracle.
Love you! Keep going. 💛
