You wanna know one thing that kicks me square in the butt at least once a week?
Writing headlines. Specifically: sales page headlines.
You have to say the most powerful thing ever said, but you have to do it in the least amount of words possible.
It has to be in your ideal client’s voice.
But not so they, like, know it’s written in their voice.
Only that it is, and they don’t even realize it.
Also, make sure that sh*t is totally original.
It’s got to sell.
But not be salesy. Yuck. No one likes someone trying to sell them with a salesy-sale.
Oh, and remember that millionaire marketing guru that said if you don’t grab them at the headline in 1.5 mili-seconds, well, congratulations, you lost your customer for-ev-ah?
There’s also that.
So basically, welcome to Jumanji. Good luck. And no pressure.
I mean, really?!
When you write a headline for your website, sales page, email newsletter or whatever…
It’s no wonder all kinds of mental blocks and panic sets in, and you decide cleaning out your pantry is a much better way to spend your afternoon than actually writing anything.
We’ve all been there.
The thing that has helped me the most is following headline templates.
That way, you know you’re in the ballpark of these unspoken “sales page acceptable practices.”
But you also have your own personality on it, and it’s not as boring as your grandma’s workout to read.

Example: LEARN HOW TO WRITE A 6-PART EMAIL LAUNCH SEQUENCE that NURTURES YOUR CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS 24/7.
(RESULT THEY WANT) without (A STRUGGLE THEY HATE)
Example: REACH YOUR FIRST 5K MONTH without WORKING NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS!
Ok, if you’re looking at these templates and your head is still spinning. Take a breath. You’ve got this. Try freewriting on these questions to get some ideas flowing, then come back & try again.
PS- Freewriting means you set a timer for 15 minutes and just write, no checking your spelling, no worrying about what it sounds like, just get your thoughts out.
You can do this!
